1. Robocop Saves Sting
This actually happened. At the WCW's 1990 Capital Combat PPV, Robocop was advertised to be in attendance. The original movie had been a huge smash hit and the sequel, Robocop 2 was set for release later that year so WCW leapt on the chance to feature the character. Maybe a backstage segment? Maybe Robocop would be featured on commentary? Maybe he would shoot out the genitals of Ric Flair? Nope. Nope nope nope. Sting came out to 'team up with Robocop'. No one's quite sure what that meant. Sting wasn't booked in a match on the card and, as far as anyone was aware, neither was Robocop. Then Sting was blindsided by the Four Horsemen and shoved in a cage previously used that night to hold Jim Cornette. Then this happened: https://youtu.be/Afr0xwde0Aw?t=99 Robocop rips the door off the hinges and saves Sting. The Four Horseman flee the scene, and Sting and Robocop stand there looking at each other. That's it. And all the while Jim Ross is calling the action as earnestly and as unironically as he can. Sting has said it was one of the most embarrassing night of his career, Jim Ross says he refuses to watch it, and what Jim Cornette thought about it can't be printed here. Truly the low point in Wrestling-based shilling.
