10 Worst Excuses For Terrible Wrestling Moments
7. AEW Pins Poor Planning On Someone Else
What Happened: The explosive finish to AEW's Revolution 2021 stunt show between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley was ruined when someone replaced the C4 with sparklers instead. Indeed, the fireworks on display were pyrotechnics that'd get parents in the bad books with the kiddies if they dared set them up in the back garden.
People booed. AEW should've been embarrassed.
The Excuse: All Elite pinned blame on the pyro team brought in to make sure the finish looked good, but Tony Khan really should've sorted all of this out beforehand. It was his pay-per-view spectacular, no-one else's. To make matters worse, Japanese veteran Atsushi Onita (who knows a thing or two about explosions) was literally used as a talking head during the build.
Why didn't AEW lean on his advice and ask Onita to help organise everything in advance? Passing the buck onto some unnamed group of folks who may/may not have been savvy enough to pull this off in the first place was WCW levels of bad planning from the All Eliters.
