10 Worst Factions In Modern Wrestling
9. Dixieland
By 2013, the concept of a heel authority figure had been so played out in professional wrestling that fans were tired of seeing it. Long gone were the days of Eric Bischoff and Vince McMahon being focal points on television, and nearly every wrestling promotion in the world had tried to recapture the magic first found in The Attitude Era.
TNA was not immune to this problem either, having suffered through the Jeff and Karen Jarrett era of Impact. Added to that, there was the period where the company was led by Hulk Hogan and the aforementioned Bischoff. Still, that did not stop Dixie Carter, TNA's real life owner, from becoming the latest evil boss to come to the forefront of professional wrestling.
Admittedly, the group of Dixie, her storyline nephew EC3, Magnus, and Rockstar Spud were at times entertaining. However, it surely did not help that they rose to prominence as company pillar AJ Styles and still popular Hulk Hogan were leaving the company. The inexperience of Dixie in the world of wrestling was evident, as she did little to elevate any of the members of the group besides herself, the worst thing any heel authority figure can do.
