10 Worst Final Champions In Wrestling History

4. Jake Strong - Lucha Underground Championship

For four glorious years, Lucha Underground provided fans with some of the wackiest, most exciting wrestling television anywhere on planet Earth. When your show features people returning from the dead, then you know you're onto something good.

Though it had just nine holders, the Lucha Underground Championship established quite the legacy. The first champion was Prince Puma, AKA Ricochet, and the belt would find itself in the hands of Johnny Mundo (John Morrison), Matanza Cueto (Jeff Cobb), and both Lucha Brothers, Pentagón and Fénix.

And then there's Jake Strong.

The former Jack Swagger in WWE and future Jake Hager in AEW defeated Penta at the fourth Ultima Lucha event by cashing in his Gift of the Gods Championship, rounding out the season as top dog. Sadly, Lucha Underground would never return, leaving him as the final champion forevermore.

Strong had been World Heavyweight Champion in WWE, so its not like he lacked the pedigree, but for a show all about high-flying, high-octane lucha libre, putting the belt on the "We the People" guy felt massively out place.

Maybe they had big plans for him that never materialised, but this was a tragic way to go out.
