10 Worst First Days For WWE NXT Call-Ups

4. Chelsea Green

A gifted and multi-skilled performer that was ultimately rather let down by the WWE system, Chelsea Green was left cursing her look after both attempts to get going on the main roster in 2019 and 2020.

As the 'Hot Mess', Green had established herself as one to watch in Impact Wrestling and the independents, getting one of only four in-ring spots made available to women on the otherwise-transformative ALL IN in 2018. In WWE, you couldn't see her for looking.

An injury-plagued stint on NXT hadn't been anything to write home about, but an attempt to bring her up was so half-a*sed that she was marginalised as an also-ran from the off. Green lost a nothing bout against Charlotte Flair on the December 16th 2019 edition of the show, dropped a Main Event match to Natalya a couple of weeks later, and was back in NXT after a cameo in the 2020 Royal Rumble.

Far better on the black-and-gold brand second time around, Green's year was hampered by the pandemic but seemingly got her real call-up with an appearance on the 13th November edition of SmackDown. It was the final false dawn - she lost a Fatal Four Way match to earn the right to be on the blue brand's Survivor Series team, injured her wrist for real yet again, and never wrestled for WWE again.
