7. Jeff Hardy
WWE.comAt Extreme Rules 2009, Jeff Hardy fell victim to injury after competing against Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship. Hardy broke a finger and sustained a shoulder injury in the bout. The injuries occurred at separate moments in the match. The shoulder injury was sustained when the two men took a bump from one ladder to another ladder. They had set up a ladder between the ring apron and guard rail and were attempting to fall from one ladder to the set up ladder. It was immediately obvious that something was wrong after the spot. The match ended with Hardy winning the World Heavyweight Championship, only to have CM Punk emerge following the match with his Money in the Bank contract, cashing in and winning the title from the weary Hardy. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xl0k7l_edge-vs-jeff-hardy-ladder-match-world-heavyweight-championship-extreme-rules-2009_sport Amazingly, Jeff Hardy had avoided long term injuries up to this point in his career despite such a risky ring style. It was suspected after the Extreme Rules match that Hardy might have to miss some time, but to many people's amazement he kept right on working and continued his feud with CM Punk.
