10 Worst Injuries Suffered In WWE Ladder Matches

8. Bubba Ray Dudley

WWE.comWWE.comOn the October 7, 2002 edition of RAW is WAR, the fourth ever TLC match took place as a result of RAW Roulette. It was set to be a four-way tag team match for the tag team titles with Kane and The Hurricane defending against Jeff Hardy/Rob Van Dam, Christian/Chris Jericho, and Bubba Ray Dudley/Spike Dudley. Prior to the bout, the Hurricane was attacked backstage, leaving Kane to defend the belts by himself. In the end, Kane was able to retain the tag belts after choke slamming Jeff Hardy from a ladder. To many, the lasting impression from this match was what happened after the conclusion. Triple H emerged at the top of the ramp and began mentioning "Katie Vick", and what resulted was one of the most infamous and terrible storylines in wrestling history. What many might not remember is that Bubba Ray Dudley was diagnosed with a severe concussion afterwards as well. Many point to the bulldog that Bubba took from Jericho off the ladder as the cause of the concussion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mV5v_AhTz4 A few weeks after the match, Bubba did an interview with WWE.com talking about his lack of memory from the TLC contest. "Even watching it back, I don€™t remember anything. I pride myself as someone who can perform in a condition like that. You go on autopilot," he said. Dudley went on to add, "€œI just hope (the fans) enjoyed the TLC Match, and I just hope they truly appreciate what it takes to put on a match like that. I hope they appreciate what we put our bodies through for their entertainment.€
