10 Worst Matches In Extreme Rules History
8. Dean Ambrose Vs. Luke Harper - 2015
There's no reason that a match between Luke Harper and Dean Ambrose - who, in 2015, were both among WWE's most talented midcard stars - should be bad, but their bout at Extreme Rules two years ago fell victim to WWE's patented cutesy overbooking.
The Chicago Street Fight should have been an opportunity for the two hardcore fighters to really let loose and do what they wanted, but the unique rule set afforded too much latitude. Ambrose and Harper brawled to the back of the arena, eventually reaching the parking garage. At that point, Harper jumped into a car, so Ambrose got into the passenger seat and the two sped off. Still, there were no countouts, so the match technically continued.
Two more matches took place, then during a backstage interview with The New Day, Harper and Ambrose arrived back at the arena. Still fighting, they brawled back to the ring, where Ambrose hit Harper with Dirty Deeds for the win. It must have sounded like a good idea on paper.
