Throughout their first six months on the main roster, The Shield put on great six-man tag team match after great six-man tag team match after great six-man tag team match. They were a revelation in truth, a three-man team that complimented each other and seemed to bring the best out of a roster that was hungry to put on great matches. It is no surprise that Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns have dominated the modern era.

But is their first loss one of the 100 matches you must see before you die? It is good, that much is undeniable, but a three-star television match seems like something of a stretch to include on such a list. There are far better Shield matches on the list in the shape of bouts against The Wyatt Family and Team Hell No & Ryback, after all.

Putting this match on the list gives the impression of wanting to put a good televised match in a list in the hope that it may improve its status. WWE themselves only placed this match 9th in their overall 'Top 25 Matches of 2013' list, the bout finishing behind other TV matches such as Daniel Bryan vs. Cesaro and The Shield's UK bout against Team Hell No & The Undertaker.
