10 Worst Mid-Match Injuries Wrestlers Fought Through
9. John Cena – Raw (27 July 2015)
When John Cena suffered a broken nose at the hands - or, more accurately, the knee - of Seth Rollins, the WWE Universe was dealt a brutal reminder of how dangerous the ring wars can be.
During a typical one-on-one bout on Raw, Rollins and Cena were trading punches to the varying "boo/yay" reaction of the crowd. As such, when Rollins replied with a knee, nothing seemed too unusual, yet Cena's reaction proved otherwise.
Clutching his face, it was clear something was wrong. By the time the bell had rung to bring the match to a close, Cena’s nose had spread across his face and his eyes were visibly swollen, leaving the face that runs the place looking like a bad police e-fit.
To the casual viewer, it was a shocking moment in modern pro wrestling; to the hardened wrestling fanatic, it was the latest addition to an endless list of wrestling injuries. Either way, when Seth Rollins defaced the face of WWE, it left a lasting impression on fans as well as Cena's profile.
Despite what some people think about Cena, you have to take your Cenation hat off to him. Soldiering on with a gruesome injury and enduring such pain during the latter half of the confrontation deserves applause.
