10 Worst Moments From WWE In Saudi Arabia (So Far)
6. Brock Squashes Cain
This "Brock Lesnar Wins A World Title Match In Minutes" trilogy concludes with The Beast's worst offence in Saudi Arabia - the destruction of Cain Velasquez. Former rivals in the UFC, Lesnar and Velasquez came face-to-face on the night Lesnar squashed Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship. Kingston was immediately cast out of the spotlight to make way for the debuting MMA star, who was accompanied by Rey Mysterio for no decent reason.
This led to a much-hyped match between the two at Crown Jewel 2019. Velasquez would be challenging for the WWE Championship in his very first WWE match, so the company were clearly very high on him... so, naturally, he lost to Lesnar in under a minute-and-a-half.
In an absolutely baffling decision, Lesnar tapped out Cain in just 88 seconds before Mysterio attacked The Beast to set up their match at Survivor Series. So the WWE sacrificed Kofi to build up Cain, who in turn was sacrificed to build up Rey? Insanity.
Furthermore, this was Velasquez's only WWE match before he got released in 2020, which ties a bow around one of the strangest, most pointless world championship matches of recent times.
