9. Shinsuke Nakamura's Jinder Mahal Failure

There were few segments more painful in 2017 than Jinder Mahal and The Singh Brothers pretending to laugh heartily at Shinsuke Nakamura's "funny faces" on the big screen. As fans sat on their hands and contemplated checking out the merch stalls, Jinder and pals had to act like they'd just watched a re-run of Anchorman.

Several of Shinsuke's contorted facial expressions flashed up on the tron, and Jinder's follow-up jokes (about constipation and Michael Jackson, mainly) had the live crowd in stitches. Sorry, no, no they didn't. People wandered around in the background looking for the nearest bathroom and reacted in disbelief to the poor material Mahal spewed out.

Quite how this was supposed to build excitement to a WWE Title grudge match between the pair is anyone's guess.

Nakamura, at the lowest ebb of his main roster babyface run, wasn't even booked to give stand up comedy star Jinder his comeuppance. He lost consecutive title matches at SummerSlam and Hell In A Cell before eventually moving on.
