10 Worst Moments In Hulk Hogan's Career

4. His Attempt To Boost TNA

In the beginning of 2010, a new era of sports entertainment was supposed to have been born. After years of being the underdog, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling was going to throw everything they had at starting a new Monday night war with the WWE. TNA was going to start broadcasting live, starting with a special three hour show on January 4th to go head-to-head with Monday Night Raw. But the biggest thing in TNA's arsenal was the acquisition of Hulk Hogan. Hogan wasn't just some onscreen part time performer, according to TNA boss Dixie Carter, he was given full reign backstage. She told The Sun at the time:
"he is involved with everything from looking at the talent to how we shoot the show"
If the hiring of Hogan was to turn TNA around, it failed. After a spike in interest which gave TNA its highest ratings ever, things soon went back to normal as fans lost interest. Hogan and Eric Bischoff, who was hired at the same time as the Hulkster, started to make changes that were unpopular with the fan base. They got rid of the six sided ring that TNA was famous for, the younger X division wrestler were pushed aside for Hogan's friends and other aging has-beens and the icing on the cake, Hogan started to treat TNA as an extension of the Hogan brand by forcing the company to hire Brooke Hogan as an on screen talent and backstage consultant for the knockouts. We have no idea what she was consulting them on but we would have loved to see Brooke try and tell Gail Kim what to do. After three years with the company, TNA never became the wrestling force that Hogan was supposed to make it and ratings pretty much stayed the same. In 2013, Hogan's contract ended and he left TNA. And after his departure, TNA have now reintroduced the six sided ring and have recently been producing some of the best Impact shows they have in a long time.
