10 Worst Moments Of WWE's ECW Revival

2. RVD Gets Arrested

This is the only decision on this completely out of the WWE's hands. Rob Van Dam's defeat of John Cena at One Night Stand 2006 for the WWE Championship set the company on fire, leading to a surge of interest in the old ECW brand and - ultimately - the decision to bring it back. RVD was on a roll, and looked the perfect candidate to lead ECW towards a future of legitimacy alongside Raw and Smackdown. Instead, he got pulled over in possession of marijuana with Sabu, leading to a 30-day suspension from the WWE and being forced to drop both his ECW and WWE championships on successive nights. There's no telling how successful the ECW revival could have been with a red-hot Rob Van Dam at the helm, but his arrest was an immediate blow from which the show never really recovered. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zgxy493QArw
