10 Worst Movies Starring Wrestlers (That You Probably Haven't Seen)

4. Sgt. Slaughter - G.I. Joe: The Movie (1987)

The G.I. Joe cartoon series was born with incredibly cynical intentions. The toy company Hasbro, naturally, wanted to sell some toys, so they commissioned a cookie-cutter animated show to target kids. Subsequently, because there wasn't much choice in the 1980s, kids (including myself) lost their damn minds.

Along with other toy properties that were converted into cartoons - like My Little Pony and the Transformers – Hasbro was so confident in their product and the collective stupidity of kids that they gambled on making feature films. And that's where we get this monstrosity.

The film had all kinds of major production problems, and it never ended up being seen in theatres. If you're old enough, you might remember watching it on TV, but if you were born after 1990, then chances are this thing is so dated and so terrible to you that it hasn't even popped up on your radar.

Apart from the mind-bogglingly trippy opening sequence (COBRA!), the best thing about this film is that it features Sgt. Slaughter being…well, Sgt. Slaughter of course. He didn't have much of a movie career and given the fact that he's terrible in this awful cartoon, it's not that surprising.

Watch at your own peril; it might just ruin your childhood nostalgia as you realise how cynical (and surprising propagandist) this tripe is.
