10 Worst Movies Starring Wrestlers (That You Probably Haven't Seen)
5. Sting - Shutter Speed (2000)
You know for certain that a movie has not been seen by many people when it doesn’t even have a Wikipedia entry.
Shutter Speed was a TV movie that was filmed in 1999 and released in 2000. Despite the fact that Sting was still very much active in WCW at the time, the promotional department was apparently way too busy preparing for the inevitable success of Ready to Rumble, and basically ignored Sting's leading-man debut.
There wasn't much to promote in all honesty. It's an entirely forgettable cliché fest, about two cops who happen to be brothers and who need to work together to solve a case after being estranged for years. It also features Daisy Fuentes whose most significant credit to date had been as host of America's Funniest Home Videos - that should probably act as an indicator of where this flick stands quality wise.
Somehow this movie cost $4 million in 1999 money, and though this isn’t as outrageous as the money River of Darkness must have wasted, it’s close.
