10 Worst No. 30 Entrants In WWE Royal Rumble History

6. Triple H - 2016

While you can’t fault his showing in the Rumble match itself, the execution of Triple H’s 2016 appearance is ultimately what lets this one down.

On paper, the angle sounds like a good one. In his first Royal Rumble match in six years, Triple H showed up – technically unannounced – as he entered the fray at no. 30 before going on to win the match outright and score his 14th WWE title in the process.

However, just because his return hadn’t been announced by WWE doesn’t mean it was a total surprise. With Triple H feuding with the then-WWE Champion, Roman Reigns, many had put two and two together and were expecting to see the on-screen COO dust off his boots and make a return to action.

Low and behold, that’s exactly what happened, and when he did so as the final man, it suddenly felt like a foregone conclusion that Triple H would not only eliminate Reigns but also go on to win the match and set up a showdown between the two at WrestleMania 32.

In short, the nostalgia value of the big return was arguably negated by the predictability of the whole thing.
