10 Worst Supernatural Gimmicks

5. Black Reign & RelliK

Black Reign and RelliK arrived in TNA separately, but remain linked through their useless tag team unit that allegedly struck fear into the hearts of performers and fans alike.

Dustin Rhodes' conversion to Black Reign was objectively stupid, but not completely out of the realms of believability. Allegedly suffering a nervous breakdown after years as Goldust in WWE, he emerged in TNA as a tortured soul with the gimmick representing a paranormally evil side he'd never unlocked.

As with most characters in the Orlando group, the character rapidly spiralled downwards. After bludgeoning Chris Harris in his in-ring debut, he was left to fester in a feud with Abyss that predictably utilised increased levels of reckless violence in place of quality action.

Joined eventually by RelliK (highlighted on commentary as 'Killer spelt backwards' with such patronising repetition that almost felt like an in-joke), the duo were saddled with James Mitchell and lost their very first match together in a gruesome 'Match of a 10,000 Tacks' designed to highlight their supposed immunity to physical anguish whilst assuming the demonic roles.

Despite countless bloodlettings in empty rivalries with Abyss, Raven et al, the characters were painfully one dimensional and treated with contempt by an Impact Zone crowd craving the high octane action on show from AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, and Samoa Joe.

RelliK departed TNA less than eight months after his debut, with Black Reign following him out the door later that year.
