10 Worst Things Vince McMahon Has Ever Done

9. Vince McMahon Ritually Bullies Jim Ross

Certain readers won't like this comparison. The comparison however really shouldn't have to be made.

Jim Ross is currently receiving treatment for skin cancer, and it should go without mention that everybody at WhatCulture wishes him the best throughout a frightening, uncertain ordeal. On Twitter, Tony Khan also wished him the best in his recovery, and has allowed him time off to recuperate. At time of writing, Tony Khan has not dressed up as a doctor on live television and performed a skit in which JR's condition is mocked for supposedly comedic effect. Nor is this remotely likely to happen. It would be an unfathomably cruel and witless thing to do.

Of course, Vince McMahon did precisely that when JR underwent a colonoscopy in 2005.

In a line that somehow wasn't penned by a sitcom writer, Bruce Prichard claimed on his podcast in 2019 that the segment was conceived "out of love and respect" for Jim Ross. In the reality these total d*ckheads refuse to live in, Vince by the mid-2000s had totally lost it, having monopolised the wrestling world, and saw fit to enact his mean-spirited fantasies in front of millions of people.

The skit wasn't even mildly, involuntarily amusing on a perverse level. The physical comedy was beyond crude and unpleasant: a display of appalling hubris made at the expense of a man who did more to create stars than Vince himself had. Perhaps he was projecting his own insecurities.
