So... was he the test? Was he on test? Why was his name Test? Either way, this guy's name was a bad pun, and it never made him sound like a true threat.
Test certainly debuted in impressive fashion, costing Triple H a chance at the WWF Championship against the Rock as DX feuded with The Corporation. He followed that up with the Stephanie McMahon romance, losing her to Triple H, and then getting paired with Albert in another gimmick based on a bad pun.
For all his potential -- and if you saw his Love Her or Leave Her match with Shane McMahon, you know he could actually go in the ring -- that name put a definite glass ceiling above his head. He held plenty of gold, but never had a chance of sniffing the mail event after Triple H and Steph became an item.
