6. Booking The MITB Briefcase Holder So Poorly Prior To Their Cash-in

Sheamus is the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, having cashed-in his MITB briefcase at Survivor Series. Before that, he was doing€ nothing. Sheamus had only one important feud since returning, and since then he, like other MITB briefcase holders before him, has been booked terribly. WWE has had this problem for many years where the MITB briefcase holder has either been a complete idiot or an underhanded coward that needed to cheat to win. In both cases, the briefcase holder wasn€™t booked strongly or well enough to be considered a top threat when not involved in the world title picture. This is why Sheamus€™ cash-in wasn€™t met with as strong of a response - people didn€™t care that he had the briefcase in the first place. And before it was Sheamus, Rollins was booked as an inept weakling who needed the Authority to do all his work for him, which greatly hindered his ability to be taken seriously as a threat, too. It isn€™t that hard to book the MITB briefcase holder properly. All it takes is making sure they win cleanly and regularly, and for their rivals to take them seriously. If that happens, then whosoever holds the briefcase will actually grow as a star while they have it in their possession, as much as they would holding the championship they€™re pursuing.
