10 Worst Trends In WWE Right Now

5. A Lack Of Creative Focus On Mid-carders And Non-Main Event Wrestlers

During his now-infamous podcast appearance, CM Punk mentioned that WWE€™s higher-ups focus entirely on a handful of top guys, while everyone else is pretty much left to their own devices. That statement is becoming truer and truer with every passing week. WWE spend so much time focusing on guys like Cena and Reigns that they forget about everyone else on the roster. This leads to supposed rising stars doomed to wrestle the same matches week in and week out and going through very little storyline progression. There are many examples of this trend in action such as Alberto Del Rio making a shocking return, only to end up in a tacky €˜MexAmerica€™ storyline, Kevin Owens becoming Intercontinental Champion, yet rarely dealing with top-tier challengers and Wade Barrett being thrown to the lions like a jobber on a regular basis. The list goes on and on... Because of this, very few people can actually break through and reach the main event. WWE€™s putting all of their eggs in one basket, instead of spreading them out evenly among multiple top prospects. The consequence of this trend could be that if those wrestlers that they do push regularly get injured, ratings will suffer. And when that happens, Vince will have no one to blame but himself.
