10 Worst Un-Extreme Matches That Took Place At WWE Extreme Rules
3. Jack Swagger & Michael Cole Vs. Jerry Lawler & Jim Ross - 2011
Another match with a stipulation, but come on, just look at those participants.
In 2011, WWE decided it would be a good idea to book a feud between Michael Cole, who wasn't a wrestler, and Jerry Lawler, who was a wrestler but was also 61-years-old.
Fans hoped this feud was over when Cole walked away victorious at WrestleMania XXVII due to a finish so screwy that even Dusty Rhodes would have thought it was a bit much. Sadly, this wasn't the case. Not by a long shot.
The feud continued (for some reason) with this match at Extreme Rules that saw Cole team up with his trainer, Jack Swagger, and Lawler team up with his former broadcast partner, Jim Ross. Oh good, another non-wrestler.
In what was billed as a "Country Whipping" match, the three non-wrestlers and poor Jack Swagger muddled their way through over seven minutes of cringe-worthy action, before Cole scored yet another win when he rolled up Ross.
How this match was given a spot on a pay-per-view is baffling and even a ridiculous stipulation couldn't make it enjoyable.
Furthermore, this wasn't even the end of the feud! The Cole-Lawler rivalry mercifully ended at the next month's pay-per-view, Over The Limit, where Jerry finally got a win.
