10 Worst WCW Tag Team Champions Ever

2. Sting & Kevin Nash

When Sting defeated The Giant at WCW Great American Bash in the summer of 1998, this allowed him to handpick a partner to carry the tag titles. His choice? 'Big Sexy' himself, Kevin Nash. Now, this seems like a fine enough choice, Nash was a big deal after all, but hadn't Sting just spent the previous forever feuding with the nWo? Come to think of it, why had Sting joined the group anyway? And why did he insist on painting his face red? It was a difficult summer for the Stinger, to say the least.

Anyway, Sting and Kevin Nash were the WCW World Tag Team Champions, meaning normality could finally return to these coveted titles. Wait, what's that you say? They lost the belts to Scott Hall and The Giant a month later? WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON IN THAT COMPANY?!

Why do wrestling promotions insist on doing these odd-couple tag team rivals swapping partners storylines? They never work. Ever. Not much was working in WCW in 1998, so at least this was par for the course. As we already know, Giant and Hall went on to lose the belts to Rick Steiner (who then chose Kenny flippin' Kaos as his partner), before vague normality returned to the titles in early 1999.

This entire period was a creative dumpster fire.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
