There have been plenty of terrible matches in WrestleMania history, but most of them were at least mercifully short. Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler 'Mania 27 went an agonizing 13 minutes and 45 seconds. However, if you add in ring introductions and post-match nonsense, then the total time devoted to the slow moving trainwreck clocks in at closer to half-an-hour. Absolutely brutal.

Of course, Cole isn’t an athlete, which is why the length of the match was so confusing. It should have been a five minute affair (at most) with Lawler pounding his broadcast partner into the ground and shutting him up for good. Instead, Cole was on offense for a majority of the match, and nothing he did looked the least bit credible. Poor Jerry tried his best, but he was unable to make the contest watchable. It was also a poor use of Stone Cold, who made a rare appearance to serve as the referee. No one came out of it looking good.

In the end King did pick up the victory, but the good times didn’t last long. The Anonymous GM chimed in and reversed the decision of the match, which then led to many months of Cole bragging he beat Lawler. It was all a gigantic, embarrassing waste of time, and remains the worst moment seen so far in WrestleMania history.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
