10 Worst Wrestling Masks

4. Arachnaman

Marvel's Spider-Man is one of the most recognisable characters in pop culture history, so it's no surprise that pro wrestling shamelessly tried a quick cash grab by introducing a superhero rip off. In 1991, WCW debuted 'Arachnaman'. It was solid hand Brad Armstrong in an ill-fitting mask and costume.

One of the first noticeable changes was that Arachnaman wore purple and yellow instead of Spidey's patented red and blue. The same black web effect was poured over the entire outfit, but it was never going to work. To kids, this was akin to those car boot sale action figures made of hollow, cheap plastic.

Still, Marvel were not best-pleased.

They threatened legal action against WCW, which ruined Armstrong's run (he was surely devastated) and forced the company to scrap the character. That was a mercy killing, because some gimp-mask-wearing Spider-Man cosplay dork was sucking wind anyway.
