10 Worst Wrestling Matches In Halloween Havoc History

9. Buff Bagwell Vs David Flair (2000)

With WWF having all but won the Monday Night Wars, Ted Turner looked to Vince Russo to save his ailing fed, and Russo’s big idea was: more soap opera nonsense. A storyline involving Stacey Keibler’s (fake) pregnancy was always going to be unedifying no matter who was involved.

Making matters worse, this match features the unlovable posing and facial hair of Buff Bagwell, and the fundamentally incompetent stylings of nepotism’s own David Flair. The latter attempts a tribute to his old man’s in-ring work but it comes off as a parody - witness an impossibly slow corner bump that the commentators attempt in vain to get over.

This being a first blood match, it ends suddenly after Bagwell busts Flair’s head open with a chair. The match up to this point had been comprised primarily of Buff posing and dismissing the concept of David Floair as a legitimate competitor (and quite right too).

With the company in such a bad way, this barely stood out as a bad match, but trust us - it’s rotten.
