Wait, Jinder Mahal wasn't the worst WWE Champion of 2017?

No, he wasn't. Though true that Jinder's 170-day reign as champ came out of nowhere (ironic, given his lengthy feud with Randy Orton) and most were relieved when AJ Styles won it from him last November, it did elevate his stock in WWE. The same cannot be said for Bray Wyatt's measly 49 days as titleholder.

Hopes were high when Bray pinned both John Cena and Styles at Elimination Chamber to capture the title. Finally, the internet sighed, WWE were starting to book Wyatt properly. So much for that. He dropped the gold to Orton in a dire mid card match less than two months later at WrestleMania 33.

Whilst Mahal's run as champion will be a talking point for years to come, for better and worse, Wyatt's stint is only good for lists looking back at how poorly he's been booked. That says it all really, and it's a shame one of WWE's most interesting characters was an afterthought as soon as he won the title.
