10 Worst WWE Champions Of Each Of The Past 10 Years
9. Dean Ambrose (2016)
The usual Roman Reigns hate brigade will have a field day over this one too.
Yes, Roman's big babyface celebration at WrestleMania 32 was underwhelming, and his Wellness Policy violation in the summer of 2016 did make him look foolish, but his reign was still more noteworthy than the one fellow Shield member Dean Ambrose experienced from June to September.
Everything seemed so bright for Ambrose when he cashed in MITB the same night and became WWE Champion. A popular, unique performer, Dean was a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately for his fans, WWE didn't have a clue how to book him and crippled his reign by firstly creating a new championship (the Universal Title) then portraying Ambrose as a mid card champ.
SummerSlam 2016 was a low point. Struggling for house room on a card stacked with more important main events, Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler didn't seem to matter. When AJ Styles beat Dean at Backlash the next month to relieve him of the title, it felt like a step in the right direction.
