2008 - Raw to SmackDown

You’d think that the son of a Hart and a Smith would be treasured by WWE. With wrestling running through is veins, Harry Smith made his way through Ohio Valley Wrestling and Florida Championship wrestling to debut on Raw in 2007. Given the new name of DH Smith (which sounds like a British newsagent) he even won his first match. Things were look up until a violation of the wellness policy saw him sit out the next 30 days. When Smith returned, he wrestled in dark matches and on Heat without stirring a crowd that loved his father’s career.

The draft can be the perfect tool to give a wrestler a new start, but that wasn’t to be for Smith. In 2008 he was drafted from Raw to Smackdown, but nothing changed. Without making an appearance he was shipped off to FCW, where he chose to remain on a full-time basis to hone his craft.

When the 2009 draft arrived, Smith was picked for ECW and went on to form the Hart Dynasty with Tyson Kidd and Natalya. He’d finally get the Hart name back as well, extending his initials from DH to David Hart instead.

When I'm not trying my hardest to visit all 50 U.S. states, I'm listening to music from the 80s, watching TV from the 90s, and reminiscing about growing up in the 00s. I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia so WWE premium live events are on Sunday afternoons for me; the absolute dream.
