10 Worst WWE Entrance Music Downgrades

7. Damien Sandow

Damien Sandow ranks alongside Wade Barrett (and a couple of others, such as Rusev) as one of the biggest potential stars that WWE have dropped the ball on over the last decade or so. Few modern crowds have been as thunderous as the 75,000 that cheered as he threw The Miz out of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royale at Wrestlemania in 2015, the culmination of a six month storyline that had seen him become the most entertaining man on the roster by becoming Miz’s ‘stunt double’, mimicking every bump he took in the ring.

Fast forward a year and he was thrown out of the 2016 version almost immediately, having been missing from television for almost the whole year, with no attempts made to capitalise on his incredible momentum. Any appearances that he did make were to a godawful and ill-fitting rock remix of his original theme.

Coming to the ring to the sound of Handel’s ‘Hallelujah’ was a huge part of what made Sandow’s original gimmick as the ‘intellectual saviour of the unwashed masses’ so enjoyable in the first place. Sufficiently sophisticated for a performer who prided himself on using his superior intellect to best his opponents (though he rarely won), it firmly established him as unique.

Why it wasn’t reverted to at the height of his popularity is anyone’s guess.
