Kofi Kingston's WWE Championship feud with Randy Orton was supposed to, at long last, be the one that elevated the beloved babyface to the position his title commanded. The pair had history dating back a decade that could now be drawn from, and the matches would surely make the most of two experienced professionals showing the young guys how to get sh*t done.

We were all fools to expect it. Not least when it hadn't worked the month before.

In Dolph Ziggler, WWE dusted off another long standing Kofi rival but failed to consider if 'The Show Off' actually came included with any nostalgia. Ziggler was fond of saying "it should have been me" in reference to the momentous KofiMania wave that took The New Day man all the way to the promised land, but not once did he manage to show what he'd already told the world. After a deathly dull duo of pay-per-view duds, the prevailing worry was that it shouldn't have been either of them.

Their contests were flatter than Kingston's chest, and doomed the Champion's reign long before he even reached Orton, or his actual demise against Brock Lesnar.
