10 Worst WWE Gimmicks Of 2014

1. Stardust

It was only a year ago this time that Cody Rhodes was €œfired€ by The Authority, and won his job back along with his brother Goldust€™s in a really fantastic tag team match against The Shield at Battleground. They then went out and topped that match in one of the best main events of Raw in 2013 when they won the tag team titles. It seemed that Rhodes was primed for that elusive main event babyface push. The only problem was that Goldust, who had only recently returned to full-time action after years of inactivity, turned out to be one of the better workers in the company, and they were kept in the tag team full-time. After losing the belts at the Royal Rumble this year, Goldust and Cody went on a bit of a losing streak, to the point where Cody said that Goldust needed a better partner. Many people speculated this would lead to Cody turning on Goldust and finally going on his own as a heel, where maybe he would get that main event push that seemed so likely a few months ago. Instead, we get Stardust. Cody donned facepaint like his brother, and acted the same weird mannerisms that Goldust is known for. It was a tremendous step back in the career of somebody who seemed to be on the cusp of greatness. To his credit, Cody is taking the gimmick and running with it. He has completely become the character, to the point of changing his Twitter to Stardust and coming up with riddles for his followers to solve. It looks like he is making the best of a bad situation, but the situation is so bad considering the promise that Cody had only a year ago, that he€™s a no-brainer for the top of this list.
