Primo and Epico were a hard-working tag team that were good hands in the ring and held down the undercard in dark matches and Superstars tapings. But they lacked that certain something that would get them noticed. So in late 2013, WWE creative got the bright idea to put them in masks and pair them with a little person in a bull costume, and re-dubbed them Los Matadores, possibly playing off Tito Santanas transformation in 1991. The only problem is, Primo and Epico are still stuck in the lower card working dark matches and Superstars tapings, only surfacing on Raw and Smackdown when theyre inserted in fatal four ways. So whats changed? The frustrating thing is that Sami Zayn, down in NXT, had the Ole Ole chant as a big part of his El Generico gimmick in the indies, which encouraged audience participation. WWE creative basically stole it and gave it to the Matadores, and the crowd does not chant Ole along. The NXT fans are still chanting Ole Ole at Zayn. As for Torito? We will take a look at him later in this feature as part of an epic feud.
