Anybody who has seen the E:60 program on ESPN that chronicled NXT should be rooting for Ray Leppan. After years of floundering in developmental as Leo Kruger, Leppan struck gold with the Adam Rose gimmick, and managed to save his job so he could continue to provide for his special needs son. The gimmick was solid: a Russell Brand-type party animal with an Austin Powers-like cult following, including a man in a bunny suit. The main roster brass looked at the wrong part of the gimmick and started pushing The Bunny, dooming the Adam Rose character. This year, Roses gimmick was further tweaked to him being in plain clothes, acting more serious, and threatening to poop all over everybodys party, doing a 180 from being the party animal. The only problem is, the word poop has a funny connotation to it, and thats going to be tough for a serious gimmick to get over when you keep saying the word poop. Once again, Ray Leppan finds himself on the bubble, saddled with a gimmick thats doomed to fail.
