What on Earth did Primo and Epico do to deserve this?

After three years as the masked Los Matadores, the duo have somehow transitioned into something even worse. Their latest incarnation started with a series of slightly off-putting vignettes celebrating their homeland, Puerto Rico, in all its glory. The Shining Stars were soon born, and while the first few clips had fans wondering if there was something more to the gimmick, it soon became apparent that there wasn’t.

The Shining Stars are a set of grappling travel agents. Their act revolves around them trying to flog suspect timeshare deals to opposing tag teams, then performing a generic heel act in the ring. All they have are some fancy shirts, a couple of flowers, and a bundle of flashy holiday brochures.

Lord knows what creative were thinking when they came up with this one. Patriotism is obviously nothing new in pro-wrestling, but this must be one of the most bewildering manifestations of national pride in wrestling history. What’s the point of these guys? Do they even have one? Why are they trying to sell timeshares, and why do they want everyone in WWE to leave for Puerto Rico? Are they serious, or are they trying to be comedic? What’s going on here?

Whatever the answers, Primo & Epico are going nowhere fast.
