10 Worst WWE Gimmicks Of 2017

6. "Mirror Man" Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon is a superhero with the ability of power absorption.

He can trade blows with the Undertaker, the marketed "best pure striker in WWE history". He can go toe to toe against the best pure wrestler in the company, AJ Styles, trapping him in sudden submissions like he's f*cking KUSHIDA. He can take Kevin Owens to the limit in a battleground befitting his opponent's barbarism.

"Mirror Man" Shane McMahon is hard to buy, and even harder to stomach. The former no-guts-no-glory underdog of old is unrecognisable; his role as SmackDown sole survivor illustrated that, yes, he actually is the hardest man on the roster. He never wins - that would represent a step too far, even for McMahon megalomania - but the message is insidiously clear. It's not even satire to suggest that, should Shane square off against Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania 34, he'd kick him as hard.

The guy is a sweaty, 47 year-old part-time act. It's a disgrace to fiction.

At least, if the teased Triple H 'Mania match happens, he can mirror his 25 minute methodical special, and we'll know precisely when to take a break from the seven hour endurance test.
