10 Worst WWE Hardcore Champions Of All Time

4. Matt Hardy

Sorry, Matt. All the tables, ladders, chairs, trashcans, and kendo sticks in the world can't help you gain a small semblance of charisma. Matt Hardy was a walking blank slate for a very, very long time in the WWE, which overlapped his being the Hardcore Champion. And unlike say, Steve Blackman, people just weren't willing to excuse that fact. Mostly because unlike Blackman, Matt Hardy never put on too many exciting solo matches while he had that belt. His title match against Undertaker on Smackdown! was fine (because it's almost impossible to have a truly bad match with Taker), but he certainly didn't hold his own the way his brother Jeff did in that Raw ladder match with The Dead Man. Basically, he was a fine rag doll. If the whole point is for him to get destroyed in increasingly bizarre ways, then terrific! Give him a shot to the head with a kendo stick or toss him through some tables, just don't try to make him a believable offensive threat in the hardcore division. Not unless Jeff is also there. ...Also, I think we can all agree that Matt's overacting is a bit much, even for a guy who just got beaned in the face with a fire extinguisher.
