10 Worst WWE Main Event Matches Of The Decade

This one was all about the match and serves as one of the worst cases of Cena giving a younger superstar the old shovel. Coming off the back of a disappointing WrestleMania main event which was more of an angle than a match, The Miz dropped his title to Cena the following month.

Here, he was getting his rematch under Big Match John’s favourite stipulation: the I Quit Match.

Straightaway, there were fears Miz was getting the burial. But even pessimists couldn’t have predicted how bad it would be. The match itself had very little actual wrestling or even brawling because for the most part, Miz and his crony Alex Riley inflicted a two on one mauling on Cena.

However, in a very predictable final sequence, Cena overcame the odds. He took out Riley with an AA through the announce table before putting Miz in the STF. The former champion quit faster than Brock Lesnar when he doesn’t get what he wants.

The worst part is, even if Cena had to win there were still ways of making The Miz look good in defeat. Just let them have a proper, hard hitting, back and forth encounter. Instead, all we got were over twenty minutes of reaffirming how tough John Cena is, completely butchering The Miz’s credibility in the process.
