As more and more time passes since that fatal three count was made, the clearer it becomes that WWE and Vince McMahon made a quite remarkable mistake at WrestleMania XXX. Vince's discussion on Austin's podcast that there was nobody left worthy enough to challenge Undertaker's legendary Streak isn't just baffling, it's untrue. John Cena, Sting and (potentially) Roman Reigns are three names that would've all been a fine selection to square off against the Deadman at professional wrestling's grandest stage. In no way was Brock Lesnar the last. Then you have Brock Lesnar. WWE's first mistake with him in 2014. Why? Why did he really break the Streak? Did he need the prestige? Not really. Could he have headlined Summerslam off of a loss? Sure he could. Did ending the one last standing piece of WWE history generate a few extra subscribers to the WWE Network? Probably. Were they enough, however? Not even remotely. Now, heading into WrestleMania 31, we are faced with the prospect of the one and only streak breaker leaving the company. People are talking about Undertaker still wrestling against either Sting or Bray Wyatt but let's be honest: who wants to see it? Who can say that Undertaker in the ring again at WrestleMania would be anything other than sad? If Vince truly does listen to the fans as he claims he does then the Streak would have never ended. If it absolutely had to, it should've been at the hands of someone who would be the future. Someone who would be around for years to come. A Roman Reigns perhaps, or someone else. Certainly not a part-time guy whom barely shows up and leaves a year later. Put simply: WWE f*cked up by ending the Streak. They threw its unrivaled legacy away for mind-numbingly small return. What an unfortunate, horrible mistake.
