10 Worst WWE Moments Of 2014

2. The Passing Of The Ultimate Warrior

This is one of those times when everything else: the bad booking, the awful segments, CM Punk and the rest gets stripped back and put into perspective. Whilst Daniel Bryan's fall from the mountain top in Kayfabe warrants a sad shake of the head, the Warrior's glorious return into the Hall of Fame and Monday Night Raw, followed by his gut-wrenching passing only a day later, leaves us speechless. The promo that he cut on Raw will now pass into legend. His words, granted a mortal meaning by his death, will find their way onto video packages and highlight reels for decades to come. They serve to remind us all of the sanctity of life and the need to live each day to its fullest. For the Warrior, his heart held on long enough to be honoured for his career and for him to give a tragic but symbolic goodbye. The message to the rest of us is two-fold: look after your body and take nothing in life for granted. Whilst his words will live on, the day of his death has to go down as the saddest of this WWE year or indeed many a recent year.

Betting on being a brilliant brother to Bodhi since 2008 (-1 Asian Handicap). Find me @LiamJJohnson on Twitter where you might find some wonderful pearls of wisdom in a stout cocktail of profanity, football discussion and general musings. Or you might not. Depends how red my eyes are.
