10 Worst WWE Moments Of 2007

7. “Donald Trump” & “Rosie O’Donnell”

If Jim Ross was asked for his true thoughts on this at the time, he'd have probably called it 'heinous'. If Triple H booked anything remotely close to it in the modern era, then JR would turn the clock back to his impassioned, vehement rants against 'The Game' when Trips was one of WWE's top heels. No joke, some of those commentary rants were so over-the-top they must be seen/heard to be believed.

Speaking of which, this. WWE booked a so-called comedy match pitting Donald Trump and Rosie O’Donnell impersonators against one another on the 8 January '07 episode of Raw. It was an appalling bit of attention seeking from WWE. They were desperate for mainstream media to cover the "wrestling match", but all they achieved was chipping away valuable time on the flagship that could've been used to build towards that month's Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

Thankfully, neither "Trump" nor "O'Donnell" made it into the Rumble.

On Raw, a giddy Vince McMahon (who clearly thought this was the funniest s*** ever, pal) introduced the O’Donnell character as someone extolling “lesbianic fury”. Yes, he actually said that. Fans in St. Louis loudly chanted for TNA throughout, which both shows just how little they wanted to see WWE's "celebrity exhibition" and how hot Total Nonstop Action was at the time. The more things change, the more they stay the same eh?

The dude pretending to be Trump even cupped his ear like he was Hulk Hogan. Not even that could earn him some cheers from a fanbase rapidly running out of patience. At least they didn't have to pay insanely bloated ticket prices to be there. Small mercies!
