https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNyHB2qBVMM Yes, Hogan returns for another entry on this countdown. But don't feel bad for him, he deserves it. Despite all of the singles titles Hogan has held throughout his career, he never held tag team gold...until he teamed up with Edge. Back in 2002, Hogan returned to WWE after being away for six years. Initially, it was immensely popular. He had a huge match with The Rock at WrestleMania, and then went on to feud with Triple H and Undertaker. He was horribly overexposed, but still showing up on TV every week. Perhaps in an attempt to give him something interesting to do, WWE paired him up with Edge and they defeated Billy and Chuck for the titles. Now, first of all, Edge is 20 years younger than Hogan. He grew up idolizing the guy. The two came from wildly different eras with Hulk emerging from the Rock 'n' Wrestling era and Edge coming from from the Attitude years. Also, at that time, Edge wasn't a big star. He was a mid-card guy that WWE kept trying to get behind, but he didn't have an interesting hook to his character. There was no build to them teaming either, they just won the belts and then unceremoniously dropped them in three weeks. It was for the best, as Hogan and Edge didn't have any chemistry together. There may be millions of Hulkamaniacs out there, and millions of Edge-heads, but the two should not mix.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
