10 Worst WWE Pay-Per-View Names Ever

6. Over The Limit

WWE Over The Limit, mercifully, was a part of the WWE pay-per-view calendar for three years.

The name lasted three years before being replaced by the equally generic Battleground in 2013, and while John Cena gets a lot of love in 2017 for his grizzly veteran ways, this was far from the norm back between 2010 and 2012. Cena appeared in all three Over the Limit main events, defeating Batista and The Miz in 'I Quit' matches - before being defeated by John Laurinaitis in 2012 after Big Show turned heel. Again.

Being over the limit of anything isn't good, and recklessly breaking the law in such a manner stopped being cool around the same time people stopped pluralising with a z.

Whether the limit is alcohol, speed or financial it is generally best to stay within it, otherwise death, misery or a combination of the two await. WWE may still be somewhat fantastical, but such overly dramatic elements should have long been consigned to the bin of history.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
