Naming a show after one of your superstars is always a risky move, as there is a possibility that that star could get injured and subsequently miss the show.

Luckily for all involved The Undertaker was a key part of this show, defending his WWF Championship against Mankind, saving a whole lot of embarrassment. The Deadman didn't really get revenge on anything but that doesn't matter - there's no need to be overly pedantic about 1997 WWF.

What was most puzzling about the show (aside from Savio Vega defeating Intercontinental Champion Rocky Maivia) was that, despite giving his name to the show, The Undertaker wasn't involved in the main event. That in itself is perplexing but it becomes even more so when one takes into account that 'Taker's WWF Championship defence was the semi-main event, with top billing going to match to decide the number one contender to the title.

Aside from being a total affront to then-number one contender Mankind, the set up made something of a mockery of the WWF Championship itself. If the aim was to create a situation in which 'Taker would be looking for revenge that aim was achieved, even if indirectly.

Although saying that, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bret Hart's feud was far and away the hottest in the company at the time. Still, dumb show name.
