If only.

That's what must've been running through Vince McMahon's mind when he watched Braun Strowman defeat Goldberg for the Universal Title at 'Mania 36. Roman Reigns was the one originally slated for that spot, but health issues forced WWE to replace him with big Braun and watch as any interest in the match faded.

Fans watching at home were too busy waiting to find out what the heavily-hyped 'Boneyard' main event would be, and that meant hardly anyone gave a toss about poor Strowman's moment. What should've been a monumental occasion for WWE's wrecking ball monster turned into a tepid title change for the sake of it.

WWE wanted to get the belt off Goldberg, and Braun just happened to be the only reasonable choice to make it happen. That, for damn sure, isn't a good enough reason to book a World Title switch at WrestleMania, but it's what happened. At least it was short.
