10 Worst WWE PPV Matches Of 2021 (So Far)

9. Braun Strowman Vs. Shane McMahon

Where: WrestleMania 37

Why It's Here: Shane McMahon's big bump quota was met for the year here.

That was it - that was literally the only point to promoting Shane-O vs. Braun Strowman inside a cage at WrestleMania. WWE wanted the 'Boy Wonder' to perform his death-defying fall, and they thought that pushing Braun as somebody brave enough to overcome lifelong bullying about being "stupid" was wise.

They thought wrong, to be honest. This was one of those gimmicky bouts that's forgotten about as soon as it finishes, and it did nothing for Strowman. Forget the fact that he was released from contract a few months later, because the big man was dead as a character as soon as WWE had him whine about poor school grades.

The build towards this caged encounter was flat out dire. Shane dumped green paint all over Braun, and he spent weeks stumbling his way through awkward promo after awkward promo about how thick the giant was. That...wasn't very thrilling, and the blowoff match didn't make up for it.
