4. King Of The Ring 2000
Why It Sucked Another edition of the King of the Ring, this one made the 2002 version of the event look like WrestleMania X-Seven in comparison! Considering the talent that WWE had at their disposal at this time, this really should have been so much better. It should not have featured OAPs Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson in a 'Hardcore Evening Gown Match'. Minus five stars. The tournament itself also wasn't very good, with the limited Rikishi given the nod to make it to the finals above the likes of Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. Latino Heat and Val Venis had the best pure wrestling match of the night, and that was only average. A Dudley Boyz versus DX (Road Dogg, X-Pac and Tori) Dumpster/Tables match wasn't as exciting as it probably sounds on paper. In fact, the Duds' table-breaking antics were already starting to feel a little played-out at this time. As for the DX boys, well their schtick was beyond stale. The main event should have been Attitude Era goofiness at its best but it just turned into a major letdown. The six-man tag was undoubtedly hampered by a dodgy stipulation (whoever gets the pin wins the WWF Title), but the action itself was nothing to write home about. Amazing to think a match featuring Kane, The Undertaker, The Rock, Triple H, Shane and Vince McMahon could be so...poor. Did Anything Redeem It? Not at all. The KOTR tournament was a huge disappointment and the other big matches didn't exactly set hearts racing, either. This is a notable misstep during one of the company's hottest ever periods.
