10 Worst WWE RAW Moments Of 2019 (So Far)
5. Mr. McMahon Announces The Wild Card Rule
Deeply confusing, wildly unpopular and piss-poor in execution.
And the Wild Card Rule is godawful, too.
On May 6, 2019, Roman Reigns turned up on RAW (not his brand) (this is now ruthlessly unimportant) and bashed Vince for letting his spoiled kids run it. And then Daniel Bryan turned up. This absolutely bamboozled Vince, this did, so much so that he flubbed his lines.
"Wow! This is a bad dream," he said. You don't dream, Vince, because you don't sleep, and if you did sleep, you might come up with better sh*t than this. "You're assigned to SmackDown, just like that guy is ass-ass-assigned to SmackDown, what are you doing?"
Before Bryan could have his "intellectual conversation" with Vince - "Vince what's funnier, sh*t or piss?" - SmackDown's Kofi Kingston appeared on the scene! Whoa! Whacky!
"Hang on a second! I just had an epiphany!" Vince roared. "What if we had ourselves a Wild Card Rule? What if I allowed three members of SmackDown to come to RAW on...given occasion? What if I invited three members of RAW to come to SmackDown?"
And then, the immortal line:
"I'm a genius!"
"And better yet," he continued. "What if I break the rule immediately, and then break it every week, and then book the same show across two nights, and make my wheezing 49 year-old son the focal point of both?"
"I'm a genius!"
