10 Worst WWE Roster "Shake-Up" Moves
1. Nia Jax To Raw (2016)
In the 2016 Split Redux, it was decreed that Raw and SmackDown combined had to make six selections from NXT. Champions (Samoa Joe, Asuka, and The Revival) were off-limits, so anyone else from the developmental brand was eligible for selection.
Finn Bálor and American Alpha were the first selections from NXT, and were sensible enough. However, since any non-champion was an eligible pick, that means in kayfabe, both sides passed on Shinsuke Nakamura, Austin Aries, and Bayley. That's why it was weird for many when for the third NXT pick, Raw chose Nia Jax.
Despite having a decent presence because of her Amazonian build, it's clear that the call-up of Nia was far, far too soon. Her recent disaster of a match with Charlotte on Raw is the cherry on the sundae of what has been a mostly-rough nine months of main roster duty, revealing many shortcomings of Nia's in terms of timing, instincts, and execution.
